“Take the word of Christ as your assurance. Has He not invited you to come unto Him? Never allow yourself to talk in a hopeless, discouraged way. If you do you will lose much. By looking at appearances and complaining when difficulties and pressure come, you give evidence of a sickly, enfeebled faith. Talk and act as if your faith was invincible. The Lord is rich in resources; He owns the world. Look heavenward in faith. Look to Him who has light and power and efficiency.”

          Christ’s Object Lessons p.146

I’ve just been preparing for my regular Sunday lunchtime Bible study, we’ve just reached Revelation 14 and so you can guess the mian content of the study.

Before we go there we will also take time to note what has happened in Revelation 13. The beast stands up and asserts his assumed power over the earth. Things look bad for God and His people. Then the image of the beast, a political power with religious overtones, is elevated into prominence.  The people of God have nowhere to turn. They can’t even buy or sell. What can they do?

Then we read the first few verses of Revelation 14. The scene has changed, instead of certain disaster there is peace. What has happened? God has made sure that we can know that we win with a simple passage of scripture. When all looks at it’s worst, we win.

“Never allow yourself to talk in a hopeless discouraged way.”

We will win. I love that little fragment in the paragraph,

“Talk and act as if your faith was invincible. The Lord is rich in resources; He owns the world. Look heavenward in faith.”

That is your task for today. You may think that pressures are too much to fit God’s will in to your life today, but talk and act as if your faith is invincible – because actually it is.
