All who became the subjects of Christ's kingdom, he said, would give evidence of faith and repentance. Kindness, honesty, and fidelity would be seen in their lives. They would minister to the needy, and bring their offerings to God. They would shield the defenceless, and give an example of virtue and compassion. So the followers of Christ will give evidence of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. In the daily life, justice, mercy, and the love of God will be seen. Otherwise they are like the chaff that is given to the fire.

We started off this blog following 40 days of prayer in the Upper Room Church in Nottingham. The members wanted to tell people about their love for God. During the 40 days we learned that we needed to invite the Holy Spirit into our lives every day.

Look at the results we should see in the paragraph above. We should see major changes in our lives that result in that telling sentence coming true, “In the daily life, justice, mercy, and the love of God will be seen.”

Might I point out that these character traits seem to be more important than confidence in talking of God, than the ability to tell people what the Bible means and knowing how to tell people how important the Sabbath is.

Keep asking for the Holy Spirit to enter your life.

Bryn likes Don Francisco, so here is another of his songs. This time we are to be blessed with ‘I don’t care where you’ve been.’ How true, God doesn’t care where we have been, He loves us whoever we are. Click on the picture to listen

     Housekeeping details for you

The point of this short blog will become clear if you decide to use this reading in the way we intend it. Netherfield Seventh-day Adventist Church believes in healthy churches. You can see what that means if you head to the relevant Healthy Churches page of the website. We also want other churches to be healthy. That means you can join in our campaign to create healthy churches, with healthy people serving the people in those churches.

A healthy church is one where Jesus comes first. A healthy church is one where the people work together to put Jesus first. One thing we are doing is to join people together to spread that news. I would like you to look at our prayer partners page. This will explain how we want you to use this short devotional. Very basically we want you to find a like-minded Christian friend who you will join with to : choose to pray together every day, decide together on a way to serve other people together, to help them grow as Christians - and to invite the Holy Spirit into your life every day. This blog that you will receive every day simply gives a common spiritual purpose. If you are a newcomer and want to join the blog with this object in mind click here
