“When the Queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relation to the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions” - Kings 10:1
This week a workman at my home had things on his mind – hard questions, and he was seeking answers. Nothing was said until, work done, he was writing out a receipt for my payment. “Are you a Christian?” he asked. Taken by surprise, I said “Yes, I am.” I was surprised because he had just spent an hour huffing, puffing and complaining – turned out he loathed snails and was trying to control a panic attack. After determining which faith I follow, his questions and opinions followed thick and fast.
This reminded me of the Queen of Sheba. She too had serious questions to ask Solomon about God and His ways – a quest that took her on a thousand mile journey. She was searching for answers. Both the Queen of Sheba and my workman were looking for God. They wanted to know His ways and His will. To ask God “WHY!!” “Is there more than this life?”
Do you have problems on your mind – questions no-one has been able to answer? It's not wrong to have doubts and spiritual issues, but why let them get you down. Take time out and talk them over with God. Every day ask Him a question, then leave it with Him to answer in His own way and time. Final advice for my workman? - a copy of the book “The Teachings of Jesus.”
